How to Extend Your Summer Glow

Before you know it, the weather will start cooling down and fall will be here. If you want to extend your summer glow well into next season, there are many ways that you can maintain that sun-kissed look. Don’t be tempted to head to the tanning salon.
With a little makeup, the right beauty products and some knowhow, you can ease your way into fall.
Pick the Right BronzerWhen your tan begins to fade, start using a little bronzer to help extend that healthy glow. Don’t go too dark — it will just look fake. Instead pick a bronzer that is just two shades darker than your natural skintone. Bronzer generally comes in liquid, lotion, cream or powder formulas. Liquid is oftentimes too heavy, while powder tends to show off skin imperfections. Try a cream, gel or lotion bronzer like Josie Marn Cream Bronzer.. Use it subtly on the areas where the sunlight naturally hits your face — forehead, cheeks, nose and chin.
Use a Sunless TannerFor your body, use a sunless tanning product to maintain your glow. Keep you skin moisturized with a rich body lotion and then apply the tanning product often as directed to continue looking bronze and beautiful. Clinque Self Sun Body Daliy Moisturizer will soothe, soften and nourish skin, and provide a natural looking glow.
Highlight Your LocksIf the sun gives your hair natural highlights in the summer, extend that look for fall by heading to the salon. Gentle face framing highlights with yellow or gold undertones will brighten up your face and provide a healthy, summertime look. For natural homemade highlights, you don’t need to pour on the lemon juice. Other products from your kitchen can give you the highlights you want.
Olive OilOlive oil can be a deep conditioning treatment that is also a natural hair lightener. Comb a generous amount of oil through your hair from roots to tips. Then sit out in the sun for about an hour. When you rinse it out, you will notice beautiful natural highlights and your hair will be hydrated too. You can repeat this treatment a few days a week until your hair is light enough.
Golden BeerGet yourself a six pack of light colored beer. Pour four bottles over you head, saturating your hair. Grab the other two beer and go outdoors. Drink up while reading a magazine or lounging by the pool. An hour later, rinse your hair with plenty of cool water. Repeat twice a week.
